Home Visits
The home visits was my first taste of health care in Grenada. Instead of starting the day with hesitation, I decided to jump in. I took every opportunity to do breast exams and take blood pressure, despite my lack of confidence in my skills. There is not a better way to increase confidence than to practice.

Public health nursing is a holistic approach. It provides the unique opportunity to witness the living conditions and home dynamics of your patients. This provides accurate information on how their environment and socioeconomic status impacts health management. I believe this is a piece of health care that is missing in the United States. Increasing and normalizing home visits would be beneficial for the patient and providers by creating a more well rounded perception of patients.
